just watched this, and….maybe the whole reason for this post is just cause i am still in awe and don’t have anyone here to share it with. the trailer is sorta misleading, because while this could be considered a “horror” movie….it’s really so much more than that.

unbelievable in so many ways. just watch it if you get a chance.

*note: but make sure you get the swedish version with subtitles…and not the stupid ass english dubbed version. i tried to download this from amazon….but all i could seem to find was the dubbed version. and itunes? i couldn’t tell if it was dubbed or not…so i didn’t want to take any chances. that said, i had to steal it…..but i will now be buying the dvd. seriously tho….who really wants to watch dubbed anything to even warrant people doing this shit? they ruin films. just say no.

so i caught the “the assassination of jesse james by the coward robert ford” last night on one of the movie channels.

i am still in awe of just how good of a film this is.

i have not seen something this good in a long-long time. it was originally released in 2007…..but much like a lot of others (i imagine)….i hadn’t gotten enough exposure of it and just now am seeing it.

there are shots in this that are so amazing…..i can only describe it as “poetry moving pictures”.

also features a soundtrack from nick cave.

brad pitt is really the dude to thank here though. i am not sure of his exact imvolvement in this picture, but he is listed as a producer too. and really, if brad pitt even helped an ounce to help get this picture made? well damn, it’s hard to hate brad pitt. minus a couple of his lamer movies….when he is taking on projects like this….and even babel too…..he is way beyond the tabloid regular the media is trying to make him into. the guy kicks ass, even i can say that.

if you get a chance to see this…..do so. it’s long, but is nothing like i’ve seen in recent years.

a freakin’ tornado?

apparently there is a tornado warning for certain parts of southern california tonight. wtf?

i thought we just had earthquakes and fires!

needless to say, it’s been raining like all week. on and off granted, but it’s suppose to continue on through the weekend. which is always fun, cause ppl can’t drive period here….but add in some rain? yikes. it’s nice to have this “winter storm” though. no football or anything….so it’ll be a good chance to maybe catch up on some of the other oscar movies too.

speaking of which, i watched juno last night. the movie is freakin’ hilarious. check it out if you get a chance.

unemployment is making me ghey!

yeah….i think i hit an all time low yesterday. it was like ninty-freakin’-five degrees here yesterday, so i pretty much just camped it in the cool a/c.

so, because there is absolutely nothing on daytime tv, what do i get sucked into? oh yeah, the home and garden channel. you know, all those interior design shows. whether it be fixing a whole house to sell, or just re-designing a room….i saw it all. oh! can’t forget the wood/utility shed i now know how to build too. least that isn’t as rich on the gay side as elegant window treatments to really bring out the depth of a room while adding some splashes of color!

yikes…..shoot me.

even better? i also sat through some show that was like wife swap…..but for hairdressers! ahahahaha! was pretty funny though. they took this hermosa beach LA kinda rocker dude and swapped him with a lady from missouri that runs a hair salon in a retirement community. needless to say, dude wasn’t so slick at doing perms….and the lady had no clue how to do those foil highlight things. or whatever it is all the girls get out here. personally, i just call it “skunkhead”. it’s so overdone and unnatural it can only marvel that of some kinda wild animal.

on the plus side, i did manage to catch a flick on hbo that i hadn’t seen. “stay”? shoot, i hadn’t even heard of it. it’s from “finding neverland” director marc forster. not sure how i really feel about it, cause i think i need to watch it again. somewhat sorta david lynchesque….but worthy of a watch. visually it’s a fun watch…and well, naomi watts never hurts things.
