tough work week.

by josh on December 8th, 2007

i had a really trying week this week. ugh….

let’s see, on monday we had a free lunch provided by in and out burger. which is a 50’s styled burger chain out here in california. apparently ppl here think they are the best burgers in the world….but i don’t think they are much to write home about. alas….it was kinda cool…they came with 2 big trucks…one with a fold out grill and the other was a full soda station. to give an idea:

in and out

then…later that afternoon we had some celebration for “mo-vember”….which was a mustache growing contest to raise money for prostate cancer. no, i didn’t grow a mustache and participate…..but i did however go drink some of the 2 barrels of beer they got for the celebration. hah! even better? they gave out free norelco electric shavers. good ones too! they were like $80 razors!

fast forward to thursday…i was starving and my boss and such were just gonna eat lunch at the cafe inside our work. i was sooooo sick of the cafe that i was determined to find something else. not having much luck, our director overhears me and suggests we go to this sports bar that is within walking distance called “my place”. i had never really gone out to lunch with kyle (our director) before, so i figured it would be a good chance to get to know him better if nothing else. well, needless to say….they were pouring a pitcher for kyle as soon as we walked it. so it was bar food and a pitcher of beer for lunch with the director that day.

then yesterday…apparently some chick that writes for our woman’s brand just got a book published. so they had a party and book signing for her. and of course they had to get another 2 barrels beer to entice ppl to participate. the funny thing is…the party was at 3:30 and usually by that time on a friday, everyone is already gone. so really….instead of leaving for the day, everyone just mingled and drank.

ah……rough week. lemme tell ya. i am not sure if i can handle drinking beer at work. it’s much more stressful than the constant flood of garbage i used to dread dealing with over the holiday season.
